Calif emissions/ Exhaust

I've got a 2001 Savage with all of the California emissions standards still installed. I just bought a new Jardine slash-cut muffler for the bike and would like to know what carb. adjustments need to be made. Also, what do I need to do to get all the Calif. emissions stuff off the bike for better performance?
